SO SIMPLE

Where

love lives

cruelty

cannot survive.

Where there is cruelty love cannot live.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

Walk

with me

out of this

locked-down cell block.

My reluctant legs

are quivering with fear.

‘Dead man walking’ resonates.

Death’s rancid breath creeps down my spine

as, seeing your tears, I mouth: ‘Sorry’.

Walk with me out of this locked-down cell block.

SEDUCTION

your lips

caressed mine,

I fell in lust.

Your gentle tongue probed

spots I thought forbidden

as eager hands ignited

and excited virginal flesh

till, aching with desire, I cried YES!

As your lips caressed mine, I fell in lust.

I apologise sincerely for that misconception if it is a form that already exists out there. It is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 syllables and then 1-2-3-4 repeated on a separate line.)

FAITH

when faith falls away

all that remains is darkness

no sun moon and stars
